The enchanting highland scenery of the natural reserve of the Fränkische Schweiz- Veldensteiner Forst is just perfect for long hikes or relaxing walks. And our charming village of Königstein lies right in the middle of the picturesque valley. It’s of no surprise that hikers and nature-lovers alike so much enjoy discovering the region. More than 125 kilometers of marked circular hiking routes: enough to make anyone happy… Need to catch your breath or rest your feet for a moment? A bench will be waiting for you to rest and relax and with a tiny bit of luck, you will enjoy the breathtaking view on the Bavarian “Fichtelgebirge”. We warmly recommend a hike to the Maximilian Grotto (guided tours from Easter till end of October) or to the natural rock labyrinth of the forest house in Sackdilling. The hiking tours Steinberg Felsensteig, the Noristoerle and the Höhenglücksteig are quite challenging and reserved to experienced hikers. |
